Wine & Design in Orcutt was founded by Lauren Lowe, a woman with a passion for art and a background in the U.S. Air Force. After a decade of service, Lauren decided to take the leap and open her first business venture. Her vision was to create a space where people could unwind, socialize, and enjoy quality time with friends and family while creating beautiful art.
What to Expect
You’re immediately greeted by the warm and inviting atmosphere as you enter the studio. The studio has everything you need to get creative: canvases, paints, brushes, aprons, cups, and glasses. The in-house bar offers a variety of beverages, including wine and beer, which you can enjoy while you paint. The only rule? Have fun!
The classes are led by professional artists who quickly guide you through the process. Whether you’re celebrating a birthday, team-building, or just looking for a fun activity, Wine & Design has something for everyone. From Art Buzz Kids Studio to Design On Wheels, couples nights, Paint Your Pet, and Paint It Forward fundraising events, something new and exciting is always happening.

One recent evening, local artist Jorge Hernandez led the group in creating a vibrant image of koi swimming through flowers. The room buzzed with chatter and giggles as Amber Andrews, the kids’ lead teacher who also leads evening and weekend classes for adults, announced the first step: “First, we’re going to make orange.” The murmur of relief turned into pure laughter as the students began to paint.
Repeat customers Katie Leon of Orcutt, Holly Escobar of Santa Maria, Lacy Lewis of Orcutt, and Kristin Cossi of Santa Maria were there to celebrate their mutual friend Sarah VanMorkoven’s birthday.
